King Solomon was famous for his wisdom. He was called ‘Solomon the wise.’ One of his contemporaries was the Queen of Sheba. She heard Solomon’s name many times. She was very eager to test his wit.
So, one day she came to Solomon’s court. The Queen of Sheba was very wise. Hearing the name and fame of King Solomon, she decided to test his wisdom, and so she went to the court of King Solomon. She was warmly received in the king’s court. She brought two garlands of roses.
One of them was of natural roses, and the other was of artificial roses. The queen asked the king to identify the real one. As both of the garlands looked quite alike, Solomon thought for some time. Just at that moment, he saw some bees humming outside the window and told his men to open the window.
Then the bees came in and sat on the garland of natural roses. Then the king was able to identify the garland of real roses. The Queen of Sheba was greatly charmed by his wisdom.
