Paragraph Our Country Class 5, 6

Our Country

Bangladesh is my motherland. She is a small, low-lying country. Her land area is 1,47,570 square kilometres. She is situated in South Asia on the Bay of Bengal. She became independent in 1971 at the cost of the great sacrifice of many brave sons. Dhaka is her capital. About 18 crore people live in our country. The climate of our country is moderate. The people of different professions live here. The main occupation of the people is agriculture. They grow rice, jute, sugarcane, potatoes, tea, etc. The people of different religions live here in peace and happiness. About 80% of the people are Muslims. The rest are the Hindus, the Christians, and the Buddhists. Bangladesh has its own language, dress, and food habits. Their common customs and traditions are the Eids, Pahela Baishakh, Nabanne, etc. The people observe the International Mother Language Day, the Victory Day, and the Independence Day with due honour. The country has some nice tourist spots. They are Cox’s Bazar sea beach, the Sundarbans, Kuakata, Sonargaon, Mahasthangar, etc. The main rivers of this country are the Padma, the Meghna, the Jamuna, and the Brahmaputra. In fact, our country is famous for the beauty of nature. However, the people of Bangladesh are simple, friendly, and peace-loving. Really, I feel proud of my country.
