A Book Fair You Have Recently Visited

Recently, I had the wonderful opportunity to visit the famous Ekushey Book Fair in Dhaka, held every February to honor Language Movement martyrs and promote Bangla literature. It is the largest and oldest book fair in Bangladesh, attracting thousands of visitors every day. When I entered the fair premises, I was amazed by the colorful decorations and hundreds of attractive stalls displaying books on a wide range of subjects like science, technology, literature, history, and children’s stories. The vibrant atmosphere was filled with readers, students, teachers, parents, and writers exchanging ideas and enjoying books. I found stalls from renowned publishers like Anannya and Somoy, where I bought a couple of storybooks, a history book, and some educational materials for my studies. The fair also featured cultural programs, poetry recitations, and book launching events. Meeting some famous authors who were signing their books was an inspiring experience. Such fairs are important because they promote the reading habit, make quality books accessible at discount prices, and introduce readers to new publications. It also strengthens our cultural identity and respect for mother language. For students, visiting a book fair enhances their knowledge, broadens imagination, and encourages them to develop better reading skills away from digital distractions. I captured many photos to remember this memorable day. Attending the book fair motivated me to read more books regularly, improve my vocabulary, and grow my understanding of our literature and heritage. Overall, the experience was both enjoyable and educational, and I look forward to visiting such fairs again. Book fairs truly inspire young minds to become curious learners and responsible citizens.

সম্প্রতি, ঢাকায় বিখ্যাত একুশে বইমেলা পরিদর্শন করার সুযোগ আমার হয়েছে। প্রতি ফেব্রুয়ারিতে ভাষা শহীদদের সম্মান জানাতে এবং বাংলা সাহিত্যের প্রচারের জন্য এই বইমেলা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। এটি বাংলাদেশের সবচেয়ে বড় এবং প্রাচীনতম বইমেলা, যেখানে প্রতিদিন হাজার হাজার দর্শনার্থী আসেন। মেলা প্রাঙ্গণে প্রবেশ করার পর, রঙিন সাজসজ্জা এবং বিজ্ঞান, প্রযুক্তি, সাহিত্য, ইতিহাস এবং শিশুদের গল্পের মতো বিস্তৃত বিষয়ের উপর বই প্রদর্শনকারী শত শত আকর্ষণীয় স্টল দেখে আমি বিস্মিত হয়েছি। প্রাণবন্ত পরিবেশ পাঠক, শিক্ষার্থী, শিক্ষক, অভিভাবক এবং লেখকদের ধারণা বিনিময় এবং বই উপভোগে পরিপূর্ণ ছিল। আমি অনন্যা এবং সময়ের মতো বিখ্যাত প্রকাশকদের স্টল খুঁজে পেয়েছি, যেখানে আমি কয়েকটি গল্পের বই, একটি ইতিহাসের বই এবং আমার পড়াশোনার জন্য কিছু শিক্ষামূলক উপকরণ কিনেছি। মেলায় সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠান, কবিতা আবৃত্তি এবং বই প্রকাশের অনুষ্ঠানও ছিল। কিছু বিখ্যাত লেখকের সাথে দেখা যারা তাদের বইয়ে স্বাক্ষর করছিলেন তাদের সাথে দেখা করা একটি অনুপ্রেরণামূলক অভিজ্ঞতা ছিল। এই ধরনের মেলা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কারণ তারা পড়ার অভ্যাসকে উৎসাহিত করে, ছাড়ের মূল্যে মানসম্পন্ন বই সহজলভ্য করে তোলে এবং পাঠকদের নতুন প্রকাশনার সাথে পরিচয় করিয়ে দেয়। এটি আমাদের সাংস্কৃতিক পরিচয় এবং মাতৃভাষার প্রতি শ্রদ্ধাকেও শক্তিশালী করে। শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য, বইমেলা পরিদর্শন তাদের জ্ঞান বৃদ্ধি করে, কল্পনাশক্তিকে প্রসারিত করে এবং ডিজিটাল বিক্ষেপ থেকে দূরে থেকে আরও ভালো পড়ার দক্ষতা বিকাশে উৎসাহিত করে। এই স্মরণীয় দিনটিকে স্মরণীয় করে রাখার জন্য আমি অনেক ছবি তুলেছি। বইমেলায় যোগদান আমাকে নিয়মিত আরও বই পড়তে, আমার শব্দভান্ডার উন্নত করতে এবং আমাদের সাহিত্য ও ঐতিহ্য সম্পর্কে আমার ধারণা বৃদ্ধি করতে অনুপ্রাণিত করেছে। সামগ্রিকভাবে, অভিজ্ঞতাটি উপভোগ্য এবং শিক্ষামূলক ছিল এবং আমি আবারও এই ধরনের মেলা পরিদর্শন করার জন্য অধীর আগ্রহে অপেক্ষা করছি। বইমেলা সত্যিই তরুণ মনকে কৌতূহলী শিক্ষার্থী এবং দায়িত্বশীল নাগরিক হয়ে উঠতে অনুপ্রাণিত করে।
